Yup. And in most cases, it is not a defect of the ceramic tile, even first quality or class A.
The most common causes of cracking or chipping in ceramic tiles are:
- Common fall of heavy or sharp objects, which damage the surface of the plate (composed of enamels and glazed materials);
- Poor quality in the laying and non-observance of the NBR 13753:1996 standard;
- Clearance of traffic before the period of seven days after the end of the work.
How to Prevent from crack tile?
To prevent these errors we recommend:
- Install the floor last, that is, after laying the tiles on the wall, painting and finishing;
- Use the double gluing method in laying the boards, leaving no empty spaces, the famous hollows, which contribute to the appearance of cracks;
- Always lay it from the inside out;
- Allow traffic on site only seven days after the end of the work, after three days, only if necessary, or in the grouting process, but only using wide wooden planks to transit over the floor;
Avoid frequent falling of heavy or sharp objects, including using rugs or carpets near critical places such as sinks, refrigerators and cabinets, which help to cushion the impact on the ceramic tile.
